Phew, the snow seems to *finally* have melted (in London at least!), so it’s officially time to get Spring ready! I have two new cruelty-free beauty finds I want to rave about, both which work to help wake up tired winter skin that’s been covered up in layers for way too long!
Cruelty-free & vegan faves to spring clean your bod!
First off, it’s really important to regularly exfoliate the body – even in the winter months, but I’ve been more about eating the sugar rather than using sugar scrubs, whoops – as it removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers fresh new cells below. It also helps prevent pesky ingrown hairs if you shave and helps your moisturiser to properly sink in and do its job!
Sister & Co. Skin Food Body Scrub
I love the concept of the gorgeous raw sugar body scrubs from Sister & Co. Skin Food. They don’t use any preservatives, chemical stabilisers, synthetic compounds or toxins of any kind in any quantity in the formulations to artificially alter the texture, fragrance or natural shelf-life of products – the yummy ingredients are in their most active state, similar to how they are found at source. They blend products in small batches and bring them to market straight away meaning that every product our customers come across is at peak efficacy.
Raw Coconut & Matcha Green Tea Sugar Scrub
This ceremonial grade organic Japanese matcha green tea is an antioxidant powerhouse that fights dulling free radicals and encourages cellular function to leave you glowing. Raw organic coconut sugar, pink Himalayan salt and loose leaf green tea deliver minerals and nutrients while gently but thoroughly sloughing away dead skin cells. Baobab oil is full of omega fatty acids it provides softness and elasticity, while cold pressed jojoba oil, grapeseed oil and Sister & Co. Coconut Oil nourishes and hydrates while rosemary, lemongrass and jasmine add freshness. Vegan and cruelty-free.
Raw Coconut & Coffee Sugar Scrub
Yep, I usually can’t start my day right without a good old cup of the strong stuff! Yes, coffee ‘wakes up’ your mind and body from the inside…and it does the same to your skin on the outside when applied topically. Organic ground Robusta coffee beans have a particularly high caffeine content, scrubbing with which stimulates circulation and helps to even out lumps and bumps, smooth and tone. Raw organic coconut sugar and pink Himalayan salt provide minerals while gently but thoroughly sloughing away dead skin cells. Raw cacao butter, cold pressed pumpkin seed oil, sweet almond oil and Sister & Co. Coconut Oil delivers a range of vitamins and nutrients while nourishing and ensuring long-lasting hydration. Sweet orange and peppermint help to uplift and energise the senses. Vegan and cruelty-free.
Whichever ‘flavour’ you choose, these types of scrubs are a great way to prep your skin for the summer, keep it heathy and really offer a quick and easy pamper for some much-needed self-care in the mornings.

Superdrug Gradual ‘Build me up’ Tan
I’m not a massive self-tan fan, but I also avoid the sun at all costs unless I’m covered head to toe in at least a factor 30! I am also on the paler side, and while I embrace this most of the year, I do like to add a touch of bronze to help gurry Summer along. Superdrug Gradual Tan Lotion has been specially developed to moisturise the body whilst gradually developing a natural, sun-kissed tan, it’s vegan, and like all Superdrug’s own products – it’s cruelty-free.
My favourite thing about this product is that it is SO reasonably priced, doesn’t smell of biscuits or whatever the heck fake tan smells like, is non-greasy and quickly absorbed. The formula also contains nourishing Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E, to leave skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth. Perfect for creating and controlling a natural looking year-round tan. As a pale person, I like the colour Medium / Dark, which really isn’t dark at all but very natural!
Available for £3.49 at www.superdrug.com , vegan and cruelty-free.
