Refuel your health at this London ‘Vit stop’

Visitors at Crussh stores will be able to get their hands on the ‘Blues Beater’ smoothie powered by Lifesum – a drink specifically designed to raise vitamin D levels and combat the winter blues.

Alongside this, the New Street Square Crussh store in the City of London has been kitted out with lightboxes so that visitors to the store can get a healthy dose of ‘sunlight’ at the same time as drinking the juice.

The condition many suffer from, known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD),  is caused by people not being exposed to enough light, which the brain needs to control hormone production. Symptoms, including fatigue, reduced concentration and low mood, can be relieved by  time in front of a lightbox which, like the sun, produce rays that contain vitamin D.

This London initiative hopes to inspire a similar movement around the rest of the country. This new collaboration was launched ahead of Blue Monday and Fail Friday with Europe’s leading health app, Lifesum as the first ever ‘Vitamin D Bar’ project, in a bid to help people in the UK counter SAD in the dark winter months.

The smoothie is available in all 27 Crussh stores across London and includes ingredients:

  • Kefir by Bio-tiful
  • Vitamin D booster
  • Blueberries
  • Spinach
  • Banana
